April 2016 Newsletter
Hello Fellow Club Chefs!
So April is here and Mother Nature decided we had it too easy all winter so she just reminded us about what we missed over the last few months!! But now it seems that Spring is here and that means another busy season is just around the corner!
For those of you that were not able to attend, The Vendor Show was another great success this year. Many vendors that I spoke with were very happy with the turnout and lots of chefs commented on the great variety of products and services on show. The cocktail party was very well attended and the food stations were very well received. Many thanks to Chef Leonard Phillips for all of his hard work organising the cocktail party. A special thank you also to all of our vendors who generously donated product for us to prepare.
We also had a great meeting in March at Scarsdale Golf Club. Chef Victor Zarate hosted us and we were treated to a fantastic Churrascaria style dinner which was absolutely outstanding! Thank you Victor!! Our education was provided by our very own Andrew Howgego. He demonstrated a few Sugar Free desserts and gave us some great ideas on how to replace sugars in our recipes naturally.
We also had a ServSafe Class in March which was hosted by Sleepy Hollow and attended by approximately 16 people. Thank you to Michael Murray at Sleepy Hollow for making the necessary arrangements for hosting us. I presume we will not need any further class until next year. If anybody need a ServSafe book, I have a few left and they can be purchased from the Club Chefs for $85.

Finally, I would like to thank you all for giving me the opportunity to serve as President of this great Association. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve you and I hope I leave the Association in as good a position as I received it.
Many Thanks and Culinary Regards.
Sincerely,
Lorcan
