June 2016 Newsletter
Greeting Chefs,
Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend and thanks to good luck the threatening tropical storm was able to clear out just in time for your Monday BBQ's!
I want to thank Chef Bryce and his staff for hosting us at the last meeting. We had a great meal and were happy that they could accommodate us during this busy time. We also had a great education seminar with Thomas McQuillan form Baldors waste control team. He showed us ways that they are trying to reduce waste on the environment and how we could implement what they are doing in our own clubs. Here is a link to the presentation for those who could not make it. They also provided a great togo bags and raffled of some off there fresh vegetables of the season for those in attendance. A nice treat!
I am in the process of changing over our web design companies from word press to wixs. It is a more user friendly way of uploading and using the web page for us as administrators and for you as members. We will have a public and private side to the page and member chefs will be able to update posting for job opening, pictures etc. There will be a few more things that we will add to the sight, past trips, past boards, minutes of meetings, and we will upload past news letters etc.to bring it up to date. Of course it will have a updated fresh look also. During the summer the page will be inactive as we start to move things over.
The trip this year will be to Sicily! We are in the early stages of the planning and should have more info mid summer. If any one has anything to contribute to the planning or has been before any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Please mark in your calender's Tuesday July 12 will be the summer dinner at the Cookery in Dobbs Ferry. Chef DiBari is going to have a classic Pig roast for us!
