October 2016 Newsletter

Hola Chefs,

We had a great meeting at Milbrook Club last week. The sushi and saki demo went over very well! I think we all learned something and had fun at the same time. We had a great turnout and thanks to everyone who attended. A few pictures of the event.

The next meeting will be held at Old Oaks Country Club on Wednesday October 5th @ 5:00 PM. This is the must attend/dont miss event for CCW this year. We have Mark Schatzker author of "The Dorito Effect" will give us a lecture/Q&A. All who attend will also receive a signed copy to take home!

Ron Joyce, of Joyce family farms will be donating lots of the different cuts of meats paired with vegetables from Chef Lorcan's Garden for the reception to follow. Joyce Farms practices decades old farming techniques in a organic and natural way to produce some of the best meats in the market today. Check out their website below.

You ask will there be cocktails at this event, the answer is YES! Lagavulins is celebrating 200 years of Scotch making and launching "Singleton of Glendullan "there aged single malt. Plenty of scotch to taste and pair with you dinner!

I have attached a flyer with more info on the evening. Please invite your managers/sous chefs and make it a great night. All members of Club Chefs of Westchester are free, guest please bring a $50 fee. With that said please mark in your calender's for October 5th.

With other news the annual Chris Gasse golf fundraiser is October 18th at Waccabuc Country Club. Breakfast at 9:00 AM and Shotgun at 11:00 AM with lunch to follow. Get in touch with Chef Lenny if you want a foursome or you want to play so he can pair everyone up accordingly. If you cant play golf and wish to join for the cocktail reception and raffle everyone is welcome. See attachment for more info.

Please help in donating some items wine/club gear/round of golf or whatever you can do for the raffle. We also have the tee sponsor to help generate more money for the family. See attachment and let me know if you can help in this area. There are still plenty of foursome so lets fill these up.

Thanks for the support,

Austin Braswell
